- DAF Trucks 12-month driveline warranty adds extra appeal for charity truck auction
- Wolverhampton Wanderers FC livery in tribute to club legend, Sir Jack Hayward
- Breast cancer charity Legay4Lucy to benefit following 18th September auction
- “…with our 12-month manufacturer-backed driveline warranty thrown-in, it makes for a seriously attractive business proposition.” Phil Moon, Marketing Manager, DAF Trucks
DAF Trucks is to provide a 12-month manufacturer’s driveline warranty as part of customer JJX Logistics’ charity auction of one of its fleet of DAF XF tractor units. The 6x2 tractor unit is adorned in special Wolverhampton Wanderers Football Club livery and is being auctioned on September 18th in aid of the breast cancer charity, Legacy4Lucy.
The truck, a top-spec XF 460 FTG ‘mid-lift’ with Super Space Cab, has a reserve bid of £15,600 though JJX Logistics expects this figure to be exceeded significantly. The company anticipates the truck will go to a local operator with connections to, or as a fan of, the club. DAF Trucks’ donation of a full warranty package makes the truck an even more tempting proposition for operators.
Painted in the football club’s familiar gold and black colourway, air-brushed images feature high-profile ‘Wolves’ players past-and-present, and was commissioned as a tribute to the hugely popular former club President, Sir Jack Hayward. The twin-bunk Super Space Cab includes Bluetooth, Sat. Nav., and fridge / freezer.
As a result of coronavirus restrictions, the auction will take place as an alternative charity event to one staged annually by the Kingswinford-based operator.
Phil Moon, Marketing Manager at DAF Trucks, said, “This is such a unique opportunity for what we presume will be a local haulier, although a top football club like Wolves will have supporters throughout the UK! The truck certainly has aesthetic appeal, but with the added peace-of-mind of our 12-month, manufacturer-backed driveline warranty thrown-in,” he said, “it makes for a seriously attractive business proposition. We are very pleased to be able, hopefully, to make even more money for the Legacy4Lucy charity.”
