The European Commission has introduced new masses and dimensions regulations with the objective to push the boundaries in terms of both emissions (CO2), traffic safety and driver comfort. DAF is the first of all European truck manufacturers to introduce a full new generation of trucks featuring a highly attractive and very aerodynamic design, using the additional freedom offered by the new legislation.

The New XF, XG and XG+ represent DAF new generation of long distance trucks, ready for the future. Taking full advantage of the new European Masses & Dimensions, all three cab variants excel in a beautiful and highly aerodynamic design. The New Generation XF, XG and XG⁺ look fantastic. Their attractive, distinctive exterior design is characterized by unmatched aerodynamics. Beauty meets functionality.
The prominent grille accentuates the elongated front, supporting excellent aerodynamics. The grille has premium chrome accents and is topped with a distinctive logo bar with a glossy inlay to emphasize the vehicles’ class.
The elegantly designed and nicely integrated steel bumper has a composite skin and consists of three elements to combine lowest vulnerability with low repair costs in case of damage.
A typical DAF innovation: Skylights. Offering additional light, beautifully integrated in the roof design. And indeed: looks fantastic. Skylights are standard on the XG and XG⁺ – with a specific design for each model.
Attractive tapered cab shape with seamlessly fitting body panels and sleekly mounted windscreen and doors result in outstanding aerodynamic and fuel efficiency.
The position of the air intake is carefully chosen. Cool air reaches the engine via the shortest route, which supports fuel efficiency. And the air intakes are obviously nicely integrated in the grille, adding to the sturdy yet elegant design.
The headlights of the New Generation DAF are real eye-catchers. They have integrated Cornering Lights and are crowned with characteristic Daytime Running Lights. Moreover, they feature full LED technology for best vision at night.
